"They went to Brad & Dave's."Taylor stayed silent, absorbing this information. "Wow . . . who knew Selena could stoop so low? Did she pay you? Is she that desperate?" She smirked at me.Taylor and I had always been like brother and sister. Since her and Joe had been high school sweethearts, we basically grew up all together when Kevin had left us to be with his wife. Her family had a bit more money than us; they were working classmen like us, but were well-educated. They helped us get through a lot.I felt my face get hot and I went into the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of water too. I woke up at ten that morning to the sound of my cell phone blaring its obnoxious ringtone. I grumbled groggily as I sat up, rubbing my eyes and yawning as I picked up my phone. "Hello?""Hey, sleepy head!" The person giggled and I gulped tiredly. "Nick, you there?"My eyes widened slightly. "Selena?""Oh, it's so honorable you remember me, Nick Jonas." She giggled once more. "Did I wake you? I'm sorry."I couldn't help but smile. "No, don't worry about it. What's on your mind?"She let out a dreamy sigh. "Nothing," she responded. "I'm just at my office. I had to sort some editorials and stuff, and it's so boring here when no one else is here." There was a pause. "Do you wanna stop by?"I rose to my feet, making my way into the kitchen. It was silent, which wasn't normal--usually Joe would be up, making himself breakfast or watching television before going out for the day. I scratched the back of my head and curled my lips into a smile. "I'll bring some lunch.""Great!" she said. I heard her hands smacking together for a clap. "I can't wait to see you again," she added cutely.
